"I don't know. I do not know where this career will bring me. Should I go? Confused. O.O"
John is confused. He is an Engineering Student in a university. Recently, he is very confused, he is having a hard time in his career. He studies very well so he can pass all his subjects, he spends too much time studying just to pass each examinations. He is not smart, just an average learner struggling in school to get his diploma. His grades are good, but he suffers a lot to get the good grades. He loves his course but he doesn't know if he can survive the course.
One day, while burning the midnight oil, he suddenly stopped studying. He then gets a paper and makes a note:
"Why am I studying too much? I almost wasted my life doing all these things. What if, what if I cannot survive this course? Everything is a waste. I believe in myself, but this life doesn't go as we believe.
I cannot drop my course, my family had spent so much already though I have a scholarship. My family counts on me, they expect me to finish this course.
I entered this course, I really don't know what this is. I just came in, and I just can't go out. Where, where will I go? Ahhhhhhhhh!
Stop it John. Let's study again, now."
As he opened the book, he fell asleep.
The next morning, he woke up cramming to read the lessons. Suddenly, he thought, "I should stop this. I know I had enough. I cannot let myself suffer in this course." He went to school dressed up, frowning, worrying because he knows he has not studied well.
When John's professor came into the room, he announced that the examination was postponed for some reasons. John felt the relief. His frown face got a smile on his face. He felt saved from a very hard examination. The professor announced that they can go home already telling htem he cannot attend the class.
John said, "Oh thank you. maybe not studying a lot will postpone examinations. Haha. Kidding. Well, I have to go home and sleep again. I want to sleep!"
"Oh, I already slept a lot last night. Well, it's a great feeling. Maybe I should just sleep always," John added.
John rode on a public transportation. He sat beside the driver.
While on the trip. All the passengers went down the public transportation. John was left beside the driver of the vehicle. The driver talked.
Driver: Hey dude. Where's your destination?
John is asleep.
Driver: Hey dude. Wake up. You're on a public transport. Where's your destination?
John is half awake. John: My destination? Oh, I don't know. I don't know where this course will bring me. I'll just continue till where this will stop. I just study. Studying all over again.
Driver: So, you're a student, a studious student. You're studying with sleepless night, I guess your family expects a lot from you?
John: Yeah. They spent too much money for me to study. We're not rich but I got my scholarship but they still pay for some of my expenses. They expect I can finish this course.
Driver: But, do you like your course?
John: I love my course now. Honestly, I entered this course though I know nothing. Now that I liked it, I just can't get out. I have no option not to like it.
Driver: You know, you're lucky. Oh no, you're blessed.
John fully woke up. John: Oh why? Suffering in school? Blessed?
Driver: Yeah. You know, when I was your age. We're rich, I have all the means but I don't want to go to school. I spend my time with friends going at the bar. I got sleepless nights just drinking beers and chasing women.
I stopped so soon, that's why I wasn't at my destination. You are still on your destination, you are blessed young student. Pursue your dreams. Believe in yourself, what you believe is what you can do.
I did not suffer in school before. But, now I'm suffering being just a driver on a public transport. You are suffering in school now, but you won't suffer when you have your job and get rich someday.
My dream is to be a Mechanical Engineer, but I ended up as a driver of a machine. I like my course but I did not love studying. You are loving your course, you can study well, you can finish your course if you believe in yourself.
Go on your destination. If you have "what-ifs", just ignore them. Like what I said, "Believe in yourself, what you believe is what you can do."
John: (Inspired) Thank you very much for that motivation. I can do this. Just last night, I am so worried. Now, you carried all my worries away. Thank you so much!
Driver: You're welcome. Just remember my story, you'll be motivated. You still have your chance, go to your desired destination.
John: There's my destination. Stop the vehicle over there. Thanks for the motivating ride.Hoping I could ride with your vehicle again.
Driver: See, you arrived at your destination. Good luck on your studies! God bless you.
John: Yeah thanks!
The public transport went away as John run fast going to his bedroom. John is looking for something. And, voila..
John burnt the note he has written last night. John believed what's written in the note became true, it happened on their conversation with the driver. So, John wrote a new note of his destination.
